| The health of the environment is as important as the wellbeing of our customers. We do all we can to minimise any adverse effects on the world we all share.
Here are some of the ways we care for the environment.
The Golden Glow® Catalogue is printed by Offset Alpine Printing under a certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management program. The Management system involves all areas of the business from managing environmental risk, to developing ongoing environmental targets.
Over the past 12 months, Offset Alpine have:
• installed rainwater tanks to feed processes in the plant • eliminated alcohol from the web printing process • halved waste to landfill • developed a paper supply data base to ensure environmental compliance.
The mills where the paper for the catalogue is manufactured are also ISO 14001 certified and use fibres from certified forest and audited sources.
The fibre suppliers are continually reviewed to ensure that no old growth forests are cut and that more trees are planted than harvested.

Golden Glow® product bottles are made from PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), a lightweight, unbreakable, shatterproof, recyclable substitute for the glass bottle (or other containers).
PET was originally synthesised by Dupont Chemists in 1941. It was patented in 1973 and first recycled in 1977.
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is the most toxic plastic for the environment and humans. It contains many toxic chemicals and heavy metals which do leak out into the surroundings. PET is a safer alternative as it is not made from industrial strength chlorine.
When recycled, 14 20 0z PET bottles yield enough fibre for an extra large T-shirt; 14 20oz bottles yield enough fibre to make one square foot of carpet; 63 20oz bottles yield enough fibre to make a sweater.
The plastic air pillows in our packaging are biodegradable.

Golden Glow has a long and proud history of supporting local, national and international organisations who care for the environment.
Our 2006 promotion, for example, included support for Earthwatch Australia, with the chance to win a Golden Glow sponsored expedition to St Bees Island in Queensland. 13 days gathering data to help find the key to balance our koala population.
